How to Build the Reply Detection Workflow in GoHighLevel

Step 1: Create the Trigger

In GoHighLevel, navigate to Automations and create a new workflow. Set the trigger type to ‘Customer Replied’ and select the specific SMS channel connected to your NOLA SMS Pro number. This trigger fires any time a contact sends a reply message to your local number — whether it is a yes, a question, or even a request for more information.

Important: Set a filter condition so the trigger only fires for replies that are NOT the STOP or HELP keywords — those should be handled by your opt-out and compliance workflow separately.

Step 2: Add the Tag and Pipeline Move

Once the trigger is configured, add the following actions in sequence:

•        Add Tag: ‘SMS Reply — Hot’ — this marks the contact as an engaged lead in your CRM and allows you to filter and segment by this tag at any time

•        Remove from Workflow: select your active follow-up sequence — this immediately stops any queued automated messages from firing at a lead who has already responded
